1998 Windstar, New engine, New transmission. Now having problems keeping front end: axles wear to fast, ti rod end go bad, ball joints start cracking, will in stall premium struts, hope that will help. Is there some lube regimen that will help. Replace these parts 2 or 3 times for some of them already.

it sounds like you've had a bit of a rough go.. those parts should be lasting longer I think. Driving conditions, how you drive etc will affect part life. When replacing ball joints, sway bar links, tie rods, see if you can purchase the ones with zerk fittings on them so that you can grease the component. While that won't change the road or how you drive, it'll certainly lube the part which will extend its life.

I am hard on the car. I don't look for every pot hole in NYC to hit, but there is enough bad roads to go around. I tend to accelerate through and out of turns. Can be hard on the accelerator. Too many RV's, BMW 4x4s, Esclades, any other V8 bigger than me keeps challanging me......... I have to hurt their feelings and shut them down! Can't help it, they should have more respect for the V6.......even though I got my crate engine from Gear Head...

Hey Northen Piper

Found out what the problem was, the driver Doggs the car! I put in new axles and the exiles were worn at both ends. I just have to back off it. Cost me 1,450 for the job. I changed the struts also. Feels a lot better. Less in my pocket though.

Thanks
