I cant really tell, some close up pictures would be good. Me and MR2Racer have something we do to make it fit correctly, but we cannot tell u, cuz that would suck for us, cuz we wont make in business on our exhausts.

I was reading that and I made it out of styrene. I'm going to try aluminum once I get a little better at it. The pipe ones kind of suck, so I'll practice on them, then do aluminum.

I did this kit a couple times. I bought a 91 MR2 back in 1990. I drove it for 10 months before I ever saw another one. I was one of the first people in the US to buy one.
I sold it in 1999 to buy a 69 Mustang, which I still have. But that MR2 handled like no other car I've ever owned. I can also say that my uncle owned a 95 Lotus Esprit. The MR2 handled equally as well as the Lotus...and with the turbo, the Lotus was not really "a lot" faster. Yes is was faster, but not 70K faster LOL.

The spoiler was available with the MR-2 in the 18 inch profile serie. I modify the front with a little lip & I cut the middle area (grill & lights).
The side skirts (in black on the pic sorry not yet painted) & the rear bumper are full custom.

Man, STFU u know u use my stuff too. As to answer your question, Youngdrifter x, i think the stuff ur using works ok, alot of ppl recommend using Tamiya Smooth Surface Epoxy Putty, even though i havnt used it myself.

Right now im still in the process of workin on the body kit, i am almost finished with the front. My friend ShOrtyOC714 thought of making a Roll Cage, so we did, took us about 2 hours or so... cuz we kept doing other stuff at the same time, it came out pretty well. Thanx to ShOrtyOC714 for all the help. :iceslolan

Looks ok, but the roll cage is too thick, and well, the bars don't really look too straight. May I suggest buying some brass rods, and bending/soldering them? IMO it would look more realistic.
ShOrtyOC714
12-07-2003, 01:49 AM
The roll cage isnt really big it just seems like it is in the pics, but in real life they look perfect, also the bars are straight its just the angels i took them at, also i messed up on 1 of the bars and thats about it.
MR-2RaCeR
12-08-2003, 11:02 AM
One of the bars is crooked because it started melting while we tried to melt the bars together, some other ones got warped because of the heat also, that's why some arent straight. Im thinking of constructing a bonnet hood for me, does anyone know how to do this?
jgmodelcars
12-08-2003, 11:15 AM
if you can try to buy some styren tubing for the rollcage then glue it together rather than melt it, then you wont have to deal with warping, plus if you put the glue on the ends of the tubing it will give it a welded effect
MR-2RaCeR
12-08-2003, 11:26 AM
We superglued them first, but it still had edges, so we decided to melt it to give it a real weld affect, just some parts caught on fire because of the super glue.
slk320
12-08-2003, 12:09 PM
The trick with styrene is to apply tube glue for platic on one end of the tube, wait for about 30 seconds, press the tube to the other piece that you want it to attach to, hold firmly for a few seconds, then gently begin to pry away the tube and you will reveal access glue have "melted" both pieces slightly. Now press it firmly back on to the same piece and hold. You should see small beads of melted plastic and glue being pressed out from under the tube end. When dried and painted, these beads give a distinct impression of weld beads.
Word of caution. Never attempt to melp the plastic pieces using direct flame. Not only will you not be able to chieve the correct result, but you may damage the parts irreversably and damage surrounding parts as well.
