is it normal for the short shifter to get hot while driving?

for some yes,
Some rest very close if not touching your exaust and well metal transferes heat (like we learned in grade 10 physics) so it get's hot,
To fix it 1. try to move your exaust no it does not touch 2. get a non metal shif knob 3. dont' touch it when it's hot

I had the Skunk2 shifter and skunk2 knob and if it was cold, it was FREEZING, adn if it was hot it was LAVA, my friend dropped water on it and it sizzled once!!! lol
