99 Stalls at Ideal.. Runs like a Top in Drive

The van will stall (super low rpms) only when in drive and at stop. For example at a red light and stopped. If the vehicle is shifted into neutral it is fine.
I can't understand why this is happening. The neutral Idle is extremely strong.
Does anyone have any experience with this issue? I would be grateful for any insights you have in correcting this issue.
Thanks!

Check and clean your idle air system. How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? Some of the national brand autostores will check codes for free.
With the vehicle in park or neutral not much load on the engine. When you put vehicle in gear, there is a load on the engine.

There are no codes showing on the computer. THE IAC was replaced about two years ago with an aftermarket brand.
I am stuck and not sure what else can be tested or replaced.

Yeah I would start by checking and/or cleaning the "IAC" Idle Air Control Valve and "TPS" Throtle Position Sensor. An "IAC" Valve could get plenty dirty in 2 years depending on conditions, so it might just be sticking!
Does the Idle speed changes when you turn the A/C On and Off?
How lond ago was the Air Filter replaced? Check how dirty it is!

The cheap IAC valve might just be sticking if it uses inferior parts. If it's stalling only when idling, I'd start there first, for sure. Does your replacement have a lifetime warranty? Swap it out and try a new one..
