what5 tools do i need to remove and 88ish integra fron lip

k i past by this small little junkyard today and i've noticed that this 88 or so year teg is just always parked there in the back outside the junkyard i think its crashed or something but it just sits outside its not even in the junkyard its in the back. im thinking bout running up there and grabing that lip. i know some my flame me for this, but i do intend to ask the guy if thats even there car and how much he would take for the lip. if he says its not for sale then im gonna go to plan b. btw would that lip even fit my 4 door?? k but what tools do i need.

yes the lip will fit your 4 door ... and I dont know what you need ... 88civic_dx should know cause he put one on his hatch.

2. remove clip that holds bolt

3. remove lip

4. bolt on your car

5. trim edges and drill one hole for the most rear located mounting point.

If you jack it after you specifically aswked him to buy the lip and he says NO, and then the next day its not there, dont u think they will think of YOU!? and if they got a camera on their lot so when u go you'll probably spotted.......

nah this place does not have camaras trust me. they probley forgot the car is even out there. btw i looked and it has its ls motor still in tach im thinking about taking that tranny out for the 5th gear im gonna still the lip first though:frown: cause its pretty simple and those mexicans dont even know english i doubt they can tell the little lip is missing and if it was they probley wont care. but after i get the lip im gonna hit them up and ask them for the tranny.

i agree 100%, and as melt said, it is no aftermarket bumper, but stealing is stealing, i know if you can afford a crvtec setup u can afford a lip, this is rediculious

its still just a lip ... if he doesnt steal it it will probably get crushed in the crusher anyways ... so I see it as a victimless crime.

:mad: damn chill. its a freakin lip that is discolored on a fucked up car that they really dont care about. im not robbing a freaking whole car hear i guarantee they woudn't even notice its gone.BUT..............check this out i went in there today in the morning cause i thought i should just ask them if can take it......i explained it to him inside he had no idea what i was talking bout so we walked to the car and i showed him and he said "shit take it off and you can have it doesnt bother me" but in spanish. so i said go for it im gonna get it later on. but.....i went inside the junkyard and they have a teg there the tag says its a 89 but my mechanic said it may be a 90 manufactured in late 89's. but i have a question the motor is a b18a1 and the tranny is a cable 5 speed. on the tranny it is marked S1-1004????? is this a b16 tranny??? my tranny is an S1 too. did someone put a b16 tranny on that teg before??? or did some ls come S1. i asked my mechanic and he said he didn't know if it was b16 untill we put it on. but did ls' come with an S1. i asked the dude if he'd sell it he said yes $250 w/30 day warrantie so i said fuck yeah. im gonna try this out hopefully its a good b16 tranny even if its ls im keeping it.(if its good) but does anyone have an idea of what tranny is on here.

you can definately tell if its an 89 or a 90. they are totally different body styles. all 1st gens have d16a1.

well the tag inside by where the door closes say 89. but it defenitly has a b18a1 motor with s1 tranny. thats why my mechanic said it might have been manufactured in the late 89's but its a90. but im curious to know what tranny that is in there. it says s1. im hoping its a b16 but i think its an usdm ls tranny.

The sticker on the door jamb should tell you when the car was manufactured...my '91 was built in June 1991, so it was probably one of the last 91 models to come off the line, since they introduce the next year by Sept/Oct or so. So my guess is this is a 90 that was built in late 89 as your mechanic said. The 1st gen tegs have the flip up headlights and d-series motors...(as noted above) - if they have a b18 and composite headlights it is a 90-93.

I would buy that shit too...sounds like a good deal!!! :bigthumb:

i dont know how accurate that is. cause my tranny is a s1 but its a b16. that has y1 as the only b16 tranny if im correct. i dont think thats right. i do believe that integras tranny is ls though. quick question could i still use my same clutch setup with an ls tranny.

my crx was made in DEC 91, i also thought that production stopped in late summer.
