My husband changed the coolant recovery tank, and when he was done, the odometer is now blank and the speedometer won't work. Help!!?

What model year?
Check fuse #10. If he didn't disconnect the battery during that service it might have blown. Also, if it's a 1999-2003, make sure the SCDS (speed control deactivation switch) under the master cylinder has been replaced with the new one. If it's leaking brake fluid, it can cause fuse #10 to blow repeatedly which would deactivate the speedometer like you said.

There is a speed related sensor on the tranny extension, kinda in the area where he was working .... did the electrical connector get knocked-loose?

12ounce - I was thinking that too but would that knock out the entire instrument cluster including the odometer? I have a hunch that they either didn't do the recall or that the dealer just added that fused link and didn't replace the SCDS and they've got brake fluid shorting out fuse #10.
Either way, I'd check for what he said as well - look for any electrical connector that's undone and also check fuse #10.

The switch on the bottom of the master cylinder applies to all years.......Mine had leaked and had been replaced long before the recall came out.

What year is your van? Do you have the all-digital display or the more common analog speedo/digital odometer setup?
