1998 winstar. Horn does not work at the steering wheel, the air bag light comes on and stays on while driving. However, when I press the alarm button, the horn will sound. I removed the air bag and put it back in, no change! Any ideas?

Possible faulty clockspring in the steering column.
I have the same problem and indeed it is the clock spring. Touck a ground wire to the yellow green wire on the connector below steering on a yellow pig tail coming out of steering. The horn will sound.
Now thw big question is...where to buy this part and what is the part number?
PLease reply.
Thanks.

Several years ago I spent ~ $800 to fix my horn switch, it's part of the air bag assembly.

Still no horn, had to replace my engin.... But I tore up an air bag tyying to fix it myself to find that the problem is past the air bag. I will cost me $100 plus parts. Thanks guys.

I had code 32 flashing on the airbag light when the clockspring went bad on mine. Horn didn't work either. I removed the unit from the column and carefully soldered the wires back together. Reinstalled and tested and everything works fine.
