Ok I have 05 Uplander that as soon as you put in gear I get two noises. One is a beeping as if a sliding door is open the other is the beeping or chime for the back up sensors when you get too close to an object. I cleaned the contacts once for the driver side power door. That cleared the problem for a little while but now it is back with the other noise. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks :screwy:

pcabn,
Good morning. When the Rear Parking Assist chime sounds, is it sounding when you put it in reverse or into any gear at all? Looking at the manual, a chime will sound the first time an object is detected between 20 inches (0.5 m) and 5 feet (1.5 m) away.
I hope you get some great technical feedback from the community, and if you decide to work with a GM dealership on getting this diagnosed keep me updated on your progress!

If a warning light bulb indicator is burnt out, it might also trigger an audio alarm.

1) Check all warning light indicators with the key in the on pos.

The beeping or chime for backing up was constant ding ding ding ding same with the one for the door being opened. I did go to a GM dealer and was told it was a Body Control Module and it would be $626 to replace and re program. I asked them shouldn't they first hook up diagnostic tool to my car to find out? Anyway I left there went home. I cleaned the contacts again on both doors. Then the battery just died. Didn't realize it was the original. I replaced the battery now everything seems to working OK. Unfortunately I think it will be back to haunt me.

Thanks for Follow-up, Layoff dealership for bad Auto service practice.

They should still be able to bench test a $625 BCM, an alarm told me the BCM was doing it's job.

in this case, the BCM told me what door was the problem, your case was the most used door.
