BCM Will Not Accept Program

I have a 2003 Impala. My car has these problems, ABS light on most of the time, check engine light on most of the time. Sometimes the fob will not unlock the doors and when I get in and turn the key there is nothing. I have to turn the key several times to start before it will actually start. Took it to the shop and it was diagnosed as a bad BCM.

The new BCM will not program. They have had it to the dealership, checked every electrical connection every sensor and even tried to program the ECM and the new BCM at the same time. Yet the new BCM will not program. My mechanic is now contacting GM directly. Any ideas???

Disconnect the battery. Leave sit for a 30 minute period of time.

Re-connect the battery.

Make sure its fully charged.

1. Put the key in the ignition. Turn the key ON and then OFF. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START THE CAR!
2. Remove the key and put back in the ignition.
3. With the key in the run position, leave the key ON for 30 minutes. You might see security and the alt indications flashing yellow and then red. This is normal.
4. After 30 mins, turn it OFF and remove the key. Put the key back in and start the car.

Hopefully the BCM will have programmed and solve all your problems.

Keep me in the loop.

This is an old unresolved post......the garage that originally started this, was not a GM garage, I think.....

If you attempt to install a BCM and program it yourself, you will end up with a cluster f*ck.....depending on the year, there are different levels for programming a BCM......in some cases, if programmed wrong, you can't go back in and reset inputs....then you end up having to get a new BCM.......
