wind star wont start

hi. my 1996 windstar wont start. acts like it wants to start( cranks over)but just wont fire up. It started fine today then i started backing up and car died. Thought I had the wheels turned too much which sometimes will cause car to die. Straightened them out and tried to restart. Could it be lack of spark? What to check?

could be spark, but I'd be checking for fuel issues first. Has the fuel filter been changed regularly? do you hear the fuel pump come on when you first start? fuel pump relay is also suspect.

I'd be thinking fuel before spark.
