2000 Windstar Signal Lights no longer flash after locking car

Hello,

Whenever I would lock my 2000 Windstar, the front and rear turn signal lights would flash once after 5 seconds or so. The lights no longer flash once after locking the car. The anti-theft system light on the dash still blinks periodically as usual. Could this be a fuse issue or something wrong with the anti-theft system? Thanks.

Yes. We had a problem like this once, it had to do with the fob, we needed to press it at least twice, until it beeped, and we had fuse issues. They are the fuses underneath the steering wheel, on the driver's side. They are easy to tell if they are bad ,they turn white. They are cheap and easy to replace.

Electronics on this make and model really have problems.

Wait until the ABS light goes on and off for no reason at all, and the other internal lights too!

Thanks, I'll check the fuses. When I press the lock button on the fob twice, the horn beeps twice, and if I recall correctly, it used to just beep once.

I had my recall service done at the Dealership a few month ago (Front Sub-Frame, Rear Axle and Brake Pressure Switch replaced) and since that work I have not had my ABS light come on again; and it's been warm outside. So if you have not had your Brake Pressure Switch replaced, look into that it might solve that problem, it did for me. Good Luck.

Thanks for the response. I have had the brake pressure switch replaced when the recall first came out.

Also for the anti-theft, make sure the switch under the hood at the cowl driver side is OK. It caused the same problem on mine because it was bent downwards and not making contact when the hood was closed.

Oscar.
