i cannot see why everyone is so worked up for such a shit-pile of a movie. if you want to see my views about this movie, read RyanGiorgio and my posts in the "Haters of TFATF" thread in the Stress Release forum, as i'm too lazy to type it all over again.

imm going to go see it, even though i know its just gonna be a bunch of stunnas BSin in it, i still just want to see the cars and action scenes, thats all:D

worst thing bout it is that , we all know that there going to betalkin bout their 10 sec cars and such, well in the new Sport Compact car, they really did a test on those cars and none of the ore fater than 12.XX sec which i think the pink s2k is the fasest:rolleyes:

I hate TFATF. I am also EXTREMELY disappointed about the soon to be out sequel. The only thing this fucking movie is going to do is encourage teenagers to do gay things to their cars. Kids who can't even tell a header from a fucking wheel are going to go see it this friday night and say "I have a Honda, and I'm gonna do that to my car!" thinking they are hot shit and what not. Well the truth is they are all like the rest of them. I was into imports about 4 years before the realease of the first film (and have the magazines and dates to prove it). Whenever I meet someone who says "yeah I'm into imports" I just think to myslef... they saw the fast and furious and fell in love.

These movies don't even really portray what an import should really be. In fact, many of the cars in the movie are rockin' ineffective hunks of plastic and some "hot" shit from APC :rolleyes:. Its all bullshit and its downgrading what an import should be. I mean who the fuck do they think they are putting a fucking APC sticker on a Skyline? A fucking Skyline...thats right. That cars like a god in Japan... and these stupid shit movie makers think they are so damn cool. (You just know that fucker Craig was behind all of that nonsense).

Friday night I am probably going to go see this movie. And when I roll up I know I am going to see the whole lot filled with Civics with clear tailights and ugly body-kits. And maybe I'll even see some Supras or 240SX...but I am sure they will be sporting some gay ass graphics and...you guessed it...all the APC decals they could find. It really hurts me to see the abuse that the import scene in america takes. It is not what it should be and all this god-awful movie is doing is bringing it down more and more. What the fuck are all of us americans about anyway? We say we like imports, but we equip our fucking cars with American made body kits. Fuck that. That defeats the purpose of an import. Do we see suped up civics with altezzas and show body kits in Japan? No. And we shouldn't see them here. As the 2 Fast 2 Furious Nazi I leave you with the above to think about. I hope the few of you who know the true meaning of an import have fun watching a great comedy thats due out this Friday ;).

Well, v6 and GT yeah, But I think the SVT Cobra could get the better of an Evo.

that evo only runs in the 15's...i was reading a mag on it... so a cobra would deffinately beat that evo... all those cars are slow...the fastest one is the blue camero and it runs 13.7, and the s2000 runs 13.9...the rest are 14-15 second cars...

Yeah- but even though the Evo is riced out- the intention of the car being tuned to be a Mustang beater (Even though it hasn't) is still there- generally what I am saying is that with the slightest amount of tuning an Evo could probably quite easily outdo a Mustang SVT

wow i left my comp for approx. 2 hours and when i came back to check and i c my thread with 2 pages! huge record there! i am deffinetly gonna c 2f2f. but i havent seen the first fast and the furious. pretty sad. but at least i save 7 bucks from the theater ( got tricked out edition like an hour ago )

how can a guy like you, a fan of the sacred 427 Cobra, also be a fan of this riced-out, totally non-realistic piece of cow-shit of a movie?? seems like completely opposite sides of the spectrum to me...

well i dont have to like the cars! its the movie that counts. for example, star wars atoc. the story to the movie was pretty good. but the actors were horrible ( this is my opnion ). every movie has a pro and a con!

a new Evo, as in REAL evo, would to be weighed down to run 15's. These things are factory 13 second cars.

i like how the cars look in 2F2F, but they shouldnt make the Evo look like its all fast, cuz like wut StrokerStang said, the Sky and Evo is REALLY slow for a super car like that. In SCC the Skyline hits 14.1s and the Evo 7 hits 15.3s. for me i thinks its kinda sad, should those 2 cars be hittin faster a 1/4 mile?

should we be breathing? OF COURSE those 2 cars should be hitting faster in the 1/4. all that body kit/wheel/decal/sound system/NOS crap is weighing them down! (except for the Skyline, which actually has a rather nice C-West body kit. shame it's riced out so badly.) with the cars in this movie, all they care about is looks, and it's a truly horrible thing. who CARES what a Skyline looks like? they're meant to GO FAST and DRIVE HARD and THAT'S IT!! they were never designed to be "phat" pimp-mobiles that ricers use to "cruz" down the strip with their "homeez" in tow. they were meant to tear up Ebisu Circuit in Japan in 5th gear. so to all you who agree with what has been done to the 2F2F Skyline: :flipa:

ok i have a couple points and a couple questions. first off, is it really fair to hate on someone who was inspired by that movie? i mean i was. it came out right when i turned 16 and so of course i was beginning my interest in vehicles. and just because that movie caught their interest does that mean they are a ricer?

and what is a ricer? everyone has different ideas of what rice is and is not. i agree that ever since that movie came out there are 2million ugly modified imports running around that shouldn't be, but do you have to stereotype all of us?

basically, my point is, i gained my interest through that movie. i plan to see the second one (even though the plot looks gay as hell). and i just dont think its fair to stereotype all of these TFATF children/fans as ricers. and hey, there's domestics in the movie too ;)

I'm going to go see the 2nd one. I thought the first one was pretty cool. Let me ask one question, how many movies out there are made to be "real"? Very few, and TFATF isn't one of them. It's a movie like Men in Black, every Close Encounter, E.T., and two of the greatest movies Batman and Tombstone, point being they're not real. They're made to make people dream, "Hey I wanna do that." I appreciate all opinions about this movie and I appreciate your insight. I started liking the import scene not too long before the movie came out, I saw a sweet Galant that was hittin maybe high 11's or low 12's. But even in the movies, you have real cars with real power. The Supra, The Charger, The Ferrari, The Viper, The Skyline, The SVT Cobra, and one that most people miss The Ford Lighting, which was lighting up 2002 and before Cobras. I know people who like the movie and I know people that hate the movie, but neither matter to me. It's whether I like the movie or not.

You still have movies such as The Matrix, Dogma, Stigmata, Hanabal, any Jet Li movie, any Jacki Chan movie, Interview With a Vampire, The Fugutive, Nothing to Loose, Happy Gilmore and almost any other Adam Sandler movie, Big and almost any other Tom Hanks movies. I mean the list is endless, another car movie Gone in Sixty Seconds. They're all fictional movies but they are still good movies. Why? Because it's just a movie. Yeah, I know the Shelby GT500 is a real car and everything it does in the movie is real. I also know that Nicholas Cage did every racing stunt himself, because is a qualified race car driver. But the story is FAKE, SO WHAT? It's still a good movie.

:o just a damn movie...so what if the little ricers will be out in full force? Hope you're feeling hungry for some Uncle Ben's the night you go to the movies. Some kids who see this movie will get into the little ricer stage then soon grow out of it, and then will become the little mold of a car enthusiast that alot of drivers here at AF want them to be...brainwashing and coercion, through humiliation, take time. :rolleyes:

93 Supra= 14.5sec
99 Skyline GT-R R34= 14.1 sec
02 EVO Vll (thats right it aint the EVO 8)= 15.3sec
95 RX-7=14.6sec
00 S2K= 13.9sec
69 Yenko Camaro= 13.7 sec

now NONE of these cars are under 13 sec cars:mad: oh but thats w/o NOS yO, or do we need to start sayin NX now??

That is a poor comparison. Gremlins were rubber skinned robots created for a horror/action movie. The cars in any of TFATF movies are inaccurate portrayals of impor cars as somebody pointed out early and lead impressionable teens and adults to believe that they can build a car that will look and drive like those in the movies. It's a bad influence.

As of reading this thread I'm debating wether or not to take my stepdad's recently acquired 1971 Z28 Camaro to the local theater with an "X through RICE" shirt.

No, I'm not basically saying that, I'm saying that Hollywood producers are telling people (Indirectly) what makes a Japanese Super Car. That goes for anything, the mdeia determines society's ideals, right or wrong. Of course nobody said that you can drive under a transport truck, but think carefully about the 'monkey see, monkey do' theory, if Hollywood does it, any impressionable person feels empowered enough to try something from the movies, not nessecarily driving udner a truck, but I bet the sales of NOS and Body Kits went up slightly after the introduction of TFATF.

i totally understand its a movie, and the times really dont matter, but it the fasct that every1 really thinks the cars are fast, now if gremlins were in fact real wouldnt it make the movie ALOT better??? just like this, if the cars were actually faster it would give it more of that reality feelin

Is it an evo in the movie?? cuz it looked to me like it was just a lancer. seems to me when they started making the movie the evo VIII had not been unveiled in the US yet. I could be wrong though i try not to pay attention to the previews for that damn movie.

Eh, not really. It doesn't have to be bone stock looking or ugly to be fast...while most show cars are just all-show-no-go, I have seen a few that are used on the street and are genuinely fast...

Well the whole movie is one enormous and very effective advertisement for the car makers and after market companies. So as long as they get their names plastered over the picture they're happy. So why bother actually tuning the cars.


There is also the point that for movies they really don't need make the cars go that fast. The movies that car scenes are filmed at anywhere near speed are rare. Add the right sound effects and "WOW that many ton limo squealed its tires!!! It must be FAST!!!!"

Well said Porsche! I've noticed mitsubishi has got in on the hype now by sponsoring the movie. In their new commercial, it shows the guys yelling in the cars at the dealership....:rolleyes:
