when I turn left my van will slide on dry pavement It's a 2001 Ford Windstar front wheel drive any clues what would cuase it ?

I would recommend that you have the vehicle inspected ASAP.
Most shops and dealerships have a "Safety Inspection/Check" where they go over the vehicle.
This can cost around $100, depending upon how thorough the inspection is.
Also, a good front end alignment includes a inspection of the front suspension.
It is a really good idea to have such an inspection done every 1 to 2 years, depending upon how much you use your vehicle and how old your vehicle is.
The idea is to find and solve a problem before it leaves you stranded or causes you to have an accident.

do you mean slide like when you're on ice and can't control the direction the van is moving despite turning the wheel?

i'd take it in get inspected also when it slides usually means something bent or alignment way out of wack you never hit anything did you? and also you never changed tires and rims on it did you?

It has had an alignment done, no i havent hit anything, tires and rims been changed

if you changed tires and rims before alignment and there wider rims and tires you need another alignment done with diffirent specs.
