Are the transmission models stamped on all the transmission housings? Like th350, th400, 700r4, etc. If not how you tell by looking at it then without checking the casting numbers? So if your 2 hours away looking at trany to buy and seller refuses to try to look for those numbers for you. Then how you tell without making a 2nd trip back to get it if it is what your looking for on any car/truck brand transmission?

All the transmissions you asked about were GM transmissions so I " assumed " that was all you were interested in ? Sorry I sent you a " BOGUS " Link ! Maybe you should have more clearly expressed what you were looking for and you wouldn't have had a " BOGUS " link sent to you !
I put it clearly in the last sentence on the first post.

yes, well, just because you only got part of your answer does't make it bogus. your response was just rude.
Take his list and add this for the mor popular RWD transmissions:

For the rest, you're on your own. No one I know of makes a master list of all teh various automatic transmissions. if youre going to look at a FWD car transmission it behooves you to go and look at one in the car first to make sure what you are getting matches that.
