2000 Impala Trailer Wire Harness

I searched the forum and couldn't get a definitive answer for this one. So, I was wondering if their is a plug in trailer wiring harness or one that doesn't require wiring it directly into the rear lights. Just wondering if there is an aftermarket one or a GM one that is made.
