Hi all,
my Windstar is a bit "clunky" at the front axle. When I stop and turn the wheels right, than a clunk noise appears from both front struts or somewhere there. Whe I turn left, the same. But if I woul'd like to try it when stopped, nothing. Only if I have just stopped or after axceleration.
I bought new struts, wheel bearings, upper strut bearings hoping to fix this. The arms, steering joints, stabiliyers are OK, mostly changed few months ago.
Any other hints? Thanks a lot to Europe :-)

I know you say the connecting rods are all OK. But I needed to have mine changed several years ago to fix a similar problem. I seem to remember them being "verticle" but can't recall what they attached too. But they were about 10 inches long, and had the spherical bearings on both ends. I found them to be bad because the rubber boots were deteriorated, and the grease was gone.
Good luck,
Steve

Steve are you refering to the sway bar links???? Yes if worn they will clunck when hitting bumps.
