2001 Impala intermittent no start

I just bought an Impala (2001) and on day 2 it started having the issues. First it was when I put on the blinker it would buzz and then ding and the message center showed the battery, the airbag light and the brake light came on all at the same time. Then sometimes the blinker would blink and all the above happened. Day 3: it wouldn't start. Not turning over, nothing. Tried it a few times then it started. I thought it might be the passlock, but when I turn the key, the car doesn't turn over. Now, on day 10 it doesn't turn over, but I do hear a click when I turn the key.
I think there might be two issues, but not sure. Kind of sounds like something is trying to engage but not conencting. Any help would be most apprecaited!! I simply cannot afford a dealer but I have too much $$ into this car to just walk away :frown:
I realize there are other posts on this, but I am hoping for some fresh info. Like maybe Gm has figured out the fix???

First thing to do is have your battery checked !

I agree on the battery.....might even be something as simple as battery cables corroded....remove and clean(key must be out of the ignition), and see if it starts.....but that usually means acid is leaking and you need a battery anyway.....

Does you cluster have a voltage gage? Did it show that the alternator was charging? If no voltage gage, was the RED BATTERY light on while driving?

Did you buy this from a dealer? They should give you a new battery if needed...

Thanks for the notes but it's not the battery.. That was one of the first things we checked. Might be the starter since it won't even turn over... Unfortunately, I think there is more than one issue going on :-( Trial & error I guess....
