Failed Inspection, Computer can't connect

97 SL 60k miles. Can't get a inspection. Says computer can't connect.

Anyone any idea what can cause this?

I don't have access to a schematic for your vehicle, but I would start by looking for any blown fuses. It's possible their scanner would not power up when connected due to a blown fuse...just a guess.

Yes, already checked the fuses. This was at Jiffy Lube. My wife. After she left there, went to Walmart. When she came out the car was dead. I jumped it and later disconected the battery to check the leads. Then found out that erases the codes so I'm driving it to work for a few days to get them back online. Still this probably will not fix the can't connect problem.

Turned out to be those boy's at Jiffy Lube. I should have known better.
