I have a 2006 impala with a 3500 engine, any ideas on a massive oil leak around the oil filter area when the engine is cold? Oil filter is tight. By the time i got the car to my garage and jacked up the leak stopped. I will recheck when it's cold and as well with the water pump.

You might change the oil filter. I put one on one time to tight and smashed the gasket out. When you change the filter once tight only turn it a quarter more also put a little oil around top of gasket.Hope this fixes your oil leak. Also it sounds like your seals are out on your water pump these are pretty easy to change.just make sure you get a good name brand pump like ac delco

Crossover pipe gaskets are known to leak causing a coolant leak....

Hey LiqiuidWrench. It was leaking from the oil filter adaptor, Swapped it out and all is cool with the oil leak. Most of the coolant leak is the constant torque hose clamps. Gonna swap out the hoses and clamp's and see it it's ok. Don't see a leak at the water pump even with pressurizing the cooling system. Found out a rad. adapter that fit's a freight-liner truck rad. fit's this so i didn't have to buy another one.

Hey Tech II, I haven't ruled out the cross over pipe. I talked to some Gm Guy's and they say to swap those out while doing the water pump. Once i do the hoses and t-stat i'll check for other leak's. Haven't seen any thing come from the pump, Yet

Ths for the come back u guy's. C-ya Scott
