Halcyon, unfortunate that you had to learn the hard way regarding how dangerous cars can be.
When I first saw your initial post I thought "why doesn't he learn to drive". Idiot.
However, given it a little more consideration, and I would guess most people who have gone over the posted speed limit have probably come unstuck at sometime or another, I sympathise with your unfortunate plite. Especially while still learning. It probably takes most of us to have an accident like yours to begin to really learn how much respect these things deserve.
Now that you have had your one big accident - learn from it and start learning how not to have another accident. From experience you can drive fast and not have accidents but you have to learn both the cars and your limits.
If you don't start learning the next accident might just be your last
Good luck
And just one more thing - buy a real car, buy a SKYLINE.:)

Funny how people assume just because you have an accident, it means you can't drive.
Wake up, you'll be next.
I've been driving Auckland roads for five years. I'll be the first to say that a driver needs a good fifteen before they can consider themselves a truly experienced driver, but I'd like to point something out.
Crashes end in two ways: tragedy, or experience.
I can and do drive particularly well. This is a self-rated conclusion from doing a 100km round trip every day to and from work, a large part of it on a viciously clogged motorway.
This was my first accident. I've had near misses, but good reactions and safe driving practices have kept me good till now.
So I chalk this up to experience rather than tragedy.
I'm rather frustrated with the various prods and pokes and toldyouso's particularly when I have lost so much, and could have lost so much more. I'll give this thread a day for you lot to read my reply then I'm removing it entirely.
This was an opportunity to share an event with some friends, not for strangers to FINALLY get to imply how brilliant THEY are at driving by pointing the finger at me. Go chase a fucking drunk or something. Better yet, hope like hell irony and fate aren't taking a special interest in you, because no member of a car enthusiast group can tell me they don't like to tear it up. Just take a look at how many ford echo enthusiast groups exist. Bodykit on one of those? Don't make me laugh. This speaks for itself, don't try to justify any opinions that sugges otherwise.
Thanks to the genuine friends who used this forum to keep in touch, you guys know who you are. It definitely gave me a lift knowing you took a moment to think about this.
Skateboard, indeed.

Its sad that you don't like the reply in such a public forum.
Also, sorry you took the comments as a criticism.
Maybe it sounds arrogant for me to say what I did, but the truth is, mate, that if we all drove the way you did, then what?
Obviously, you prefer what I said as a criticism, not just a word of advice.

Hmm i am sorry it fustrates you for people to point out the obvious!!
I too am glad that you are o.k as i don't want to see anyone dead.
But from what you have posted it makes out that, you really haven't learnt anything at all. what if you had killed someone?? have you thought about the consequences?? i am not saying that you can't drive but to be doing that speed when you were tired and incapable of driving at high speeds one would thought commen sense may have prevailed!!
guess not eh??
well maybe someone should drive for you for a while??

Oakley, I fail to see how you glean your conclusion from this thread. I would suggest a case of "speak first, justify later" is in effect here. One of your comments was just bizzare.
Quit taking advantage of my crash to massage your social conscience. Look at the forum you're on.
Funny how people like you cry out against low speed limits and speed cameras, yet when it suits you, you can put on an entirely different hat.
Please don't try to tell me you're different. Go bother someone else you little rodent, you're tempting fate.
Velocity. Drive like I do? That's precious, I've never had a ticket in my life. It speaks for itself.
Why do you need a turbo? They're way, wya overpowered for legal driving. And don't try to find some way to tell me it makes you safer.
Use your heads, don't kick me when I'm down.

Hayclon,
got to admit this is fun!:)
I can understand that you think you are being criticised. Not ment to, from my point of view.
Anyway, you are obviously sensitive to comments.
I prefer to withdraw my comments as obviously they were of no help what so ever.
Good luck with your future!
