Outside ambient air temperature sensor

2011 Impala LT

Outside air temp reading only changes sporadically and I would like to replace it. I understand that it is behind the grill with a 2-wire cable going to it. My problem is that I can't find the correct part number for this. Even a call to the dealer brought no results, which I find very peculiar. As you probably know, an incorrect reading of the sensor affects the proper operation of the a/c and heater. This is especially noticeable when using the remote start.

Can anyone help?

Thank you Tricia. I have verified that part number and it is the correct one. It turns out that it is used on 2006-2012 models. I purchased it yesterday for $7.14 after getting your response and installed it in less than 5 minutes. Working great now.

As far as the warranty question... No :(

This vehicle has a reconstructed title. Actually, it is pretty weird. The car had approximately $5k in damage to the front end (mostly bumper, headlights, grill, 1 quarter panel, etc.) No frame damage at all (I have the actual autobody repair paperwork and pictures of the damage). Somehow, the dealer was able to have it "Totalled" and I ended up buying it from another dealer that specializes in this type of vehicle. Basically I got a $25k car for $14k. I drive my cars into the ground so I plan on having this one for many, many years.

It sounds like it was your Gain, he just wanted to write it off,
the insurance covered the loss.

Under 36K miles? Then should be under warranty....

I believe if you set the temp to high heat, before you shut the car off, the heat will come on high when you use the remote start.....

yes under warranty but gm says it is the way it is cannot change it.they all agree when it's 55 outside would you want the ac to be on with remote start.,my dealer gave me a memo with it saying "48 degrees an under heat will come on,48 to 82 the ac comes on "ps thisheat an ac is automatic when used with the remote start. vettecraze.

Did you try MANUALLY setting the temp to max(90), before shutting the car off?

Then use remote start and see what the temp is....

i tried that. when you use the remote start nothing works in the car until you turn the key to run, when the key is turned on then all the lights an heater will run.the tempurture sensor is the key to this. thank you, vettecraze
