Car wont start.....

Ahhhh crap my car wont start. I was at my friends for a bit, started my car and it ran for about 2 seconds before cutting out. It wont turn over, no clicking, no noises. All lights and the stereo all work. A few weeks ago my tachometer quit working (not sure if it has anything to do with this). I dont have time to work on my car till tomorow so does anyone have any good starts as to what could be the problem?

Maybe the main relay?

did you happen to try and jump the car? or push start it? the batt. could be dead enough it won't turn over but the lights and radio work... start with the free stuff and make sure the batt is good...

then if the car does run if you push start it and won't turn over i'd look into the starter... if it doesn't look into the main relay, wire connections and the distributer....

when my alternator went bad my tach sometimes would turn off also until one day i couldn't start my car either. But if that is the prob then your battery light should come on. Some auto part stores will check your alternator and other electrical stuff for free, you should find one of them

it is electrical probably so check ur fuses too, all of em, and get someone to test ur alternator and see if you have a spark from ur plugs

check for corrosion on the battery terminals and inside the plug where the wire harness plugs into the alternator

check if you have enough gas. Also, check your starter.
