Dead Blower 05 Impala

I have seen a lot of threads on the problem.

I was able to smack the dash and have the blower come on. Or sometimes it worked normally. I believe there is a relay in the resistor unit. Getting to it is gonna be fun as it is next to the blower and under the dash wedged in near the firewall. I saw a video on You Tube so I know what I am up against.

Another explaination in another forum suggested that a connector marked C-12 or C-21 (or something like that) may have a loose connection. That means yanking the radio to get to.

I want to know what is the best way out to get my A/C on again. And the cheapest. Saving gas with the air off but it gets damn hot and humid here in Texas. :eek7:

:screwy:Dead motor problem SOLVED!

I took the car apart and checked for voltage at the motor. Voltage ranged from 6.62 to 13.25 with the car running and the blower selector on high speed.

Disconnected the wires at the motor. (Released and pulled out the connector)
Viola! Corroded terminals. Put the connector back and rapped the bottom of the motor with a set of pliers to see if a brush was stuck. That happens too.

Motor runs at full power at high speed and runs in all the speed ranges too.
You can hear the brushes in the motor as it runs but....you gotta be under the dash. Beside what do you want from a korean made motor? :screwy:

So thats a good thing. Now to take the resistor assy back to the parts store.
