2003 Impala LS 3.8L engine -
I have two issues, don't know if they are related or not....
The ABS / Traction control light is intermittent. Seems to come on when it is raining - had it scanned and pointed to the left rear. Disconnected the sensor and checked with an ohmmeter. I don't remember what it was, but I do remember it read the same as the other side and one of the fronts. I "wiggled, pulled, and bounced" the hub whatever I could, but the reading stayed steady. Connected it back together without replacing anything, and it was good for about a week. Now it is happening again.
Second - stalling while driving - it has been stalling for the past few weeks while driving. I just put it in neutral, start it back up, put back in gear and continue. No CEL, and no codes show up on the scan tool from Auto zone.
Are these related, and any idea where to start?

alot of things can cause the car to stall ie. dirty iac, maf, vacuum leaks ect
but the abs does,nt have anything to do with it
good luck

Weird. I have the same car and the EXACT same problems. The stalling problem I had was due to the fuel pressure regulator. When I started the car, and sometimes while driving around the car would stall out. I replaced the regulator and it immediately fixed the problem. I haven't had as much luck with the ABS/TCS problem though yet. I had the mechanic run the trouble code today and I got C1226 which is the right front speed sensor erratic. One of these days I plan on pulling the tire and seeing if there is any debris around the sensor. Did you fix your car yet? Good luck, let me know how it goes.

I just fixed the problem: "2003 Impala stalls".
I realized that I disconnected and broke off the seal on my Mass Air Flow (MAF) when I changed my air filter. My car was giving me error P0102. This means that the car was not receiving enough air to the engine and staling because the MAF tube was disconnected.
Mass Air Flow is the tube that decides how much air should go into the engine.

Well, this is an old thread, so I thought I better put it to bed...
I fixed the ABS - found a dead sensor on the left rear, so I changed the hub. ABS problem is fixed.
Car still stalled once in a while after the hub change.
This is my 25 y.o. daughter's car, and she took care of it and fixed it for good....
She totalled it at a stop light. Seems that she did not realize the person in front of her was at a stoplight, and she ran into that person.
We figured she was going about 40 - never touched the brakes.
Glad she walked away without a scratch. Both airbags deployed and the whole front end was gone!
Oh yes, I finally got it out of her that she was on the phone.
Kids....What can you do! Hopefully she will realize that parents are not as dumb as we look!
