2003 3.8L Engine VIN Location

I am military stationed overseas and I need to locate the VIN on my engine. I have located the VIN in the windshield and on the door frame, but according to my DMV I need to also locate and verify the VIN on the engine. Does anyone know where this is? I looked in the Haynes manual and it says it is near where the transmission connects to the engine, but it was no help. I have a 2003 Chevy Impala LS, 3.8L engine. Hopefully I posted this in the correct thread...
