upper lower manifold question

I think i may screwed by my mechanic. My 3.8L 2000 winnie was leaking coolant. the line running through the lower manifold need to be replaced. upon inspection my lower manifold had a crack and needed to be replaced. he told me he had a used one from a van that blew the tranny and person was not fixing it. i had asked him to do the new iso bolts also. as my cel came back on 171/174/0401 i was wondering if he replaced iso bolts. when i now look at the upper intake the 13 bolts are still very dirty/rusty with no markings at all on them. i was wondering if he put the other vans upper and lower in my van assembled together, is that possible. the bolts dont seem as if they were touched

And to replace the coolant tube it is necessary to remove the isolator bolts to lift the lower plenum section which give you access to the coolant tube. If you can take a look to the following link you will see all the process to fix the 171/174 issue plus this coolant tube replacement.

Maybe, maybe not.

FIRST OF ALL make sure the vacuum hoses are properly connected at the back of the intake manifold, if they don't will cause a massive vacuum leak (p0171/174) and the EGR flow (green nylon tube running from the manifold to the EGR valve) will be affected as the EGR valve is not opening due to the lack of vacuum (p0401).

You can try to either run your hand to the back of manifold and guess only by touching at the back of the manifold (there should be 3 or 4 hoses connected to it) or you can try removing the wiper cowl and take a good look at the back of the engine.

Regards,

Oscar.
