when i put the motor in it hooked up other than the crankshaft positioning sensor and the fan temp relay. when i went to hook up the 2002 cps instead of the 94 it lost spark. probably due to the ecu or eprom not haveing the correct code in it or just not recognizing it can i get the ecu or a newer programible ecu to recognize it. its just a trigger coil right.

Why aren't you using the 94 CPS? I would say that the 02 CPS is bad. They use the same one from 94-02.

i looked online and it said it wouldn't work due to longer connecting rods i had it hooked up at first and it ran but only on two cylinders it was firing wrong or when the intake valves were open. the sensors are at differn't spots. but i'll try thanx

It doesn't matter where the sensor is located on the block. The sensor itself is just a magnet. The only time you'll have trouble putting a newer long block in an older Saturn is if the older Saturn is a 91 or 92. I assume you are using the 94 intake? What did you do about the EGR valve? Did you check the mounting area under the coils to make sure you're getting a good ground? Spark plug wires in good shape?

new coils plugs and wires i cleanded all the grounds. yup using the 94 tbi. i left the egr valve in and fixed a vacume line. so it wouldn't matter if the 02 is obd2 and the 94 is obd1? i will try an new cps or a gm cps that will run on the original ecu.

got it working on the newer sensor but its runing cold on 1 and 3 fine on 2 and 4 can i use the tbi on the fuel injected motor?
