Rear Window Defogger

Is there an easier way to reattach the connector to the metal pad on the rear glass for the defogger other than an almost upside down soldering job in a really awkward tight space? After a few weeks of my wife's 07impala rear defogger not working I looked at the connections to discover one side of the connector had separated. It came off in my hand when I touched it.
