I have an 03 Impala that became close friends with a deer the other day and now I need to replace the drivers side headlight lens and housing. It looks preey straight forward..anything special I should know..what about a good source for the parts? My dealer wants $272.00. A little on the steep side if you ask me...any help..Thanks.

Google Impala headlight, there are a number of aftermarket sources. I have heard that the ones from VOR are not good, however, I haven't tried one myself.
Replacement is a 5 minute job and requires no tools. Like you said, it's obvious how to do it. Just be sure to put the dust caps back on properly if you have removed them to change bulbs.
You may be able to find a headlight in a junkyard, but most of the time they are gone.
In 2003 sometime, the cap over the high beam bulb was changed, so if you want both sides to match you will need to check that, but otherwise the headlight unit is the same from 00-05 and any year will fit and work fine.

the scrap yard is where you go to get parts for an older vehicle.

make a list of what you need first..look the vehicle over ...

most times these can be had very cheap ...if they ask for 25.oo talk them down ...haggle ..
