now..if i get myself a custom exhaust, such as Apexi N1 Muffler, and i get an engine swap later on, will i have to change the pipings since i will be putting in another engine? such as the ZC? This is for my 90 Honda CRX DX

no, you can keep whatever pipes you get now, thing is a muffler shop will just have to realign the pipe to match with the manifold of the new engine.

If you do the ZC it will line right up. I never had to change anything on my exhaust, and ran the stock DX piping for a long time. It's definitely a worthwhile thing to do, and shouldn't give you any trouble. I personally just had a muffler shop put on a straight 2.5" pipe from the cat back with a resonator from another car to look like a muffler. It runs great and sounds good too. Plus, it looks pretty stock and doesn't attract the cops.
