Howdy,

Made new suspension part:

http://www.modelbrouwers.nl/albums/coppermine/albums/userpics/11363/P1010031.JPG

Chassis in base-coat. Beware, lots of sinkholes on it, gives you some work to get them all out...
Tomorrow i will clear it:

After a long break, finally had some time to work on the Jagermeister.

Drilled holes in fenders:

http://www.modelbrouwers.nl/albums/coppermine/albums/userpics/11363/P1010040.JPG

RB motion rivets:

http://www.modelbrouwers.nl/albums/coppermine/albums/userpics/11363/P1010051~0.JPG

Headlights need to be painted in orange, parts are chromed by Tamiya, so did some masking:

http://www.modelbrouwers.nl/albums/coppermine/albums/userpics/11363/P1010052~1.JPG

In grey primer:

Next up is to prime it white and lay down the color...

A great start and a great kit - I made it many many years ago straight from the box - so I'll watch with interest as you give it the real treatment,
Wishing you the very best of luck,
Cheers,

Wow - it looks great - and to think I built the same kit over 20 years ago when it came out first - straight from the box - nothing like the finish you have going on - it languished on the shelf for years collecting dust until my young nephew put his eye on it - I eventually let him "play" with it and over time it became so damaged, that I let him take it home........ and now, after seeing your beautiful example - I WANT ONE!!! Cheers - keep it going - great stuff, Regards, Paul

Looking really good!

I have this same kit and have only just started looking at the parts and determining how I want to strip the 'aluminum' and chrome parts.
If you decide to strip the chrome of the wheels, please tell. I have tried oven cleaner, bleach, vinegar, and brake fluid, it just looks at me and laughs.

The zero paint looks super, not sure how easy its going to import to California though.

I think the satin chrome has a clear flat over the chrome. Try 91% Alcohol to strip that. Then use Easy Off oven cleaner, only use the stuff in the yellow can as the blue can fume free is worthless.

@Robertgreen94, yes i'm planning on removing the chrome, and respray with alclad.
Will see what works on removing it and i will let you know.

Body is cleared...
Added some more thinner to the 2k to avoid orange peel...
But clearly not enough, used the micro mesh pads and voila:
(Excuse me for the finger in the first pic :) )

Then the "but":
Had a dust particle in the hood, had to sand it out and burned thru the base coat :banghead:
Resprayed the area that was damaged but not happy with the result.
New decals are on the way and hood is stripped...

Still looking wonderful - great paint / clear job - don't you just hate it when those unsightly marks show up and call for re-work - but sometimes it makes the whole project all the sweeter!

Hey Robertgreen...

I've finished my rims today...
Tamiya's chrome was removed with revell airbrush cleaner (red cap, yellow can), works super!

Hi
Amazing building!!
The only annoying thing its the pipping of the front radiators, its should be more realistic the connection of the rubber pipes. All the pipping should be revised.
Large scales deserves large accuracy.
