I had a 1990 5.0 Camaro and it was nice! Thing with v8's all I had to do is drop a $800 350 in and instant mid-14's just with the engine. Plus, rear wheel drive is something I miss soooooooooo much, I can't even take a corner accelerating without the front wheels and the whole front of my car feeling like it's going to shake apart.

1994 have a 5.7 Liter V8 285 Hp *350* motor:eek:
Not to mention I believe it will have a six speed manual transmission.

Actually I think its like a 15 second car cause it weights like 3600 lbs... And I'm not stripping it. Just gonna do a FlowMaster, CAI, some knicknacks.. Also that the 350 type motors are as about as easy to mod as a Civic.. Literally the 350 motor is the Civic of american engines. So I can make it a nice monster car with 500 bucks onto the engine.. :) I'll drop by hell I'll goto some civic meets ......if you guys promise not to hurt me

I know the LS1 Camaros/Firebirds were 13 second cars from the factory. However I have read that most drivers can't get their cars to go that fast, it takes a lot more skill than just slamming down the pedal.

Preciesely. I can get my truck pretty fast but its a cheap POS and I've been driving it for 2 1/2 years. Thats why I know how it drives. Give me a few months and then I'll get it into the 13's hopefully. I dont know if iti s LS1

its an LT1, the LS1 was in the corvette's, and camaro's i believe 97+ models

The '94 Z28 could sprint the holy 1/4 mile in 14.2 seconds @ 101mph. With a 0-60mph of 5.7 seconds. 0-130mph in 28.5 seconds.

Made 275hp @ 5200rpm 325ft-lbs @ 2400rpm.

The LS1 debuted in the '97 C5 Corvette, and later introduced in the F-body in '98.

The LS1 was also in the Chevy Caprice police model until like 97 i think. now you can get those cars at auction for dirt cheap, and you've got a LS1 with a lot of miles on it, but one that was maintained very well. it's popular in boise right now to get the used cop caprices and put 10" spoke wheels one them and hydros.

my friend is picking up a 98 Trans AM at the end of the week with the LS1, should be running bout the same specs as the 14.2 right?

he's getting a t-top model so doesnt that add weight to his car?

You're thinking of the LT1 motors. The caprice was only given the LT1. It was a detuned LT1 with Cast iron heads rather than Aluminum heads. They really werent that fast, but faster than the Crown Vics that replaced them.

A '98 T/A should if he's a good driver be able to pull down a 1/4 of 13.9 @ 104mph stock.

the t/a is gonna be the auto box, id give em a good run tho.

Well, he's not going to be much slower if any even thought its an Auto. He'll be more consistant than say somebody with a Manual T/A.

Didn't the Camaro go up to a LT-4 engine on one of the aniversary editions? If so, was it any faster than the LT-1? I had friend with an automatic 97 Z-28, supercharger, blower, exhaust, headers, stahl, and had to put in a new rear after he broke the stock one. He got his car to run 11.1 in the 1/4 @ 120 mph. Now he has a 97 Vette, 6-speed, stock, running 12.5 in the 1/4.

Corvette's have an LS1 engine, its just a bigger badder monster... And Corvettes ARE 12 second baby's out of the factory man... They don't make 'em for long distance :P.

Yes, there was an extremely low produced number of '97 Camaros that were equipted with the LT4 motor. 106 to be exact. Rated at 330hp rather than 305hp. Oh and a Supercharger and Blower are the samething :D..

The only Vette produced now that runs 12s stock is the Z06, the C5 Coupe runs low to mid 13s but its possible to run 12s with slicks I suppose. And Yes, they are built for long distance. Vette's are very good at what they do... that's going fast any place any time and they handle like they're on a rail.

the road holding index is the lateral G's the car produces while going through turns.

a corvette runs a 1.02g, i believe its the best stock number so far.

And anyone know about corvette tail lights on a camaro?

Well....i'm pretty new to the actual 4th generation civic...but heck if you can't have one of these you could atleast settle for a real car....a pony car....A MUSTANG! not a Camero....i mean c'mon? Seriously....my dad who drives a 88' 5.0 LX gives me hell about my car, when he bought it, but i mean god...a camero...i would rather settle for a Pinto....at least that's a Ford....lol....
