Got a strange problem with my daughter's 93 SL2. It has the 1.9 DOHC engine. She called and told me she didn't think it shifted right. She said it only happened once a day first thing in the morning after she got about a few blocks away from her appartment. She said if you stepped on the accelerator it was work it's way out of it and would not do it again during the day after it had set all day and cooled down. I had her bring it home and sent her back to school with another car. I drove it to work this morning and it did nothing wrong. I drove home for lunch and after got a block or 2 away from work it started acting like it was missing but not just one cylinder but like the ignition went dead for a split second and would keep it up every few seconds. It did it under acceleration or constant speeds. It did not lose power really, you could just feel it lurch when ever it did that. I pulled in the drive way and stood on the brake and the accelerator and it was still like it was missing every few seconds but did not seem like it was on the same cylinder and not rythmic. It is really hard to explain. Anyway I took it back after lunch and had no problems at all going back or home. It ran fine. Not sure where to begin on this one. I changed out the ignition control module about 3 months ago as it was throwing some kind of code about it at that time, but it was running fine was the strange part of that. Also put new plug wires on it at that time too. Anyone out there heard of a problem like this before? Any good ideas where to best start? All help is greatly appreciated
