Remote lock unlock no horn & another thing

I have a 2000 Winny whose two remotes no longer activate the horn confirmation when operating the lock and unlock functions. Honestly, I didn't pay much attention to if the horn would honk when unlocking it or when a door was ajar when locking it (according to the manual it is supposed to do both.) I only paid attention to it to be sure the doors locked. I reprogrammed both remotes according to the OM and received confirmation of it being fully completed and successful. However, the horn still does not work for either remote, so I assume that the problem is with the van's remote computer system,....which means going to the dealer.....sigh :disappoin.

The other thing is a question as to what is the bubble like object on top of the dash on the driver's side all of the way down at the windshield. I know it's not the temperature sensor for the outdoor temp display since that is in front of the radiator or for the inside temp since there isn't an EATC.

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

Interesting. It appears from the service manual that the anti-theft system has its own horn, not shared with the steering wheel button horn. My expectation would be that the horn honks not on the first "lock" press but if you were to push the "lock" button a second time shortly after the first press you would get the honk. I would not expect you to get a honk when disarming/unlocking.

Does the horn honk when you violate the perimeter? I think you can do this by rolling down a window, arm/lock the system, then open the door from the inside door handle. If the horn honks this way, you know the horn is physically and electrically fine.

The bubble like object in the center of the dash I believe is the sunload sensor for the EATC if you had it. The autolamp sensor appears to be located in the proximity of the headlamp switch.
