Oh....speechless.
That CA looks incredible! I knew right off the bat what it was. I was thinking that it was slightly short for an RB, then AHHHH SWEEET!!! It's a CA18DE-T! You are truly inspiring!
The gold/bronze looks fantastic. Throw some of that beautiful stainless trim on there and kazzow! pure sex!

Thanks guys!
While not my first color choice, the color is starting to grow on me. I got the interior about 80% done. I flocked it with some Martha Stewart flocking I got at Micheals, and semi gloss black for the rest. I spruced the black up a bit with some BMF, brown shift knob, steering wheel, and knobs. These are just a teazer...better daylight pics to come.

I'm ditching the stock seats and gong with a set of vintage racing type. Thanks for looking.

As promised, a few daylight pics. I ditched the stock seats, and replaced them from a set out of my spare parts bin...I think they are Porsche, and I really like the look of them in the old gal :evillol: I fabbed up seat belts from 1/8" ribbon, and made the hardware from 0.4mm sheet.

Here's my engine bay update. I plumbed the supply and return fuel lines, made a clutch and brake master cylinders...turning the reservoirs on my dremel out of 2mm styrene rod...and plumbed the brake lines using a factory service manual for reference :smokin:

Thanks...I'm really liking how it's turning out too :iceslolan
I got a bit more done to the engine bay. I finished plumbing the bay brake, and clutch lines. I turned a fuel filter from 2mm styrene rod, and started to run the fuel lines. I was going to paint them, but I decided to leave them blue to look like silicone lines and give the bay a bit of color. Most of my references show that these cars had a bladder type windshield washer reservoir, so I shaped one out of two-part epoxy putty and added a filler neck that I turned out of scrap styrene rod. On to the ignition. I originally wanted to make a MSD 6AL ignition module. I fabbed one up using the dimensions I got off of the MSD website, but it was too big to fit in the tiny bay. I didn't want to wast the work I had already done, so I cut it in half for a custom space saver model. I wired it up according to the MSD installation manual to a coil that I turned out of another piece of scrap styrene rod.

That's about as far as I'm going with the bay at this point...just a few more details to add. I will however give a teazer of the engine's new look:

Eventually, I'll get around to making other versions. I'm just having fun with this one...she wouldn't be street legal in Japan.:nono:
I started messing around with the engine. I added the head coolant line from the water pump to the back of the head. I really don't have a good reference for it, so I based it off of the TC24 BII six cylinder head. I decided that this is a high temp area, so I used braided hose, with AN fittings I made from wire insulation, and 2mm hex beads that I got from Micheals. I fabricated the header from 0.050" silver solder...not exactly the same as the OS header. The original design wouldn't work with my new front crossmember.

http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/6879/dscf50602.jpg
It's starting to get a bit tight in the bay...but I think I'll be able to cram a bit more in :smokin:.

I'm working on my favorite parts of my builds...the engine:smokin: The custom header, and engine mounts were in the way of the oil filter, so I made a remote filter adapter, and ran braided line. I also did some work to the carbs. I fabbed up linkages and a throttle cable out of a strait pin, some craft wire, and scrap plastic. I also fabbed up banjo type fuel fittings out of wire and a couple of strait pins. The fuel hose is plumbed up with craft tubing and clamps made out of Radio Shack wrapping wire.

At first I thought the header was on the wrong side, then I noticed the crossflow head!
Does the header clear the steering column?
How will you route the exhaust now, with a crossover from driver side then through the stock frame holes on the passenger side?
What a treat to watch, this is awesome!

Thanks dude. Yeah, this is no U20 . The crossflow OS head has presented a lot of challenges when it came to the L block. The header has gotten in the way of things like the oil filter, and starter that normally occupy the right side of the block. Space has been tight especially since I've added the extra details. I've actually started to run out of space to add things like the battery. Let's just say its got relocated to the trunk ;). I'll have to see if there's room for the steering shaft and gearbox. As far as the exhaust goes...I hacked off about 5mm from the front of the stock exhaust, And added a crossover pipe. I want to keep the stock location for a sleeper look.
Thanks Luis! Just a few ideas for yours ;)

Not too happy with the oil filter lines...the attachment points are not as neat as I wanted them to be. But overall, I'm pretty happy with how she's turned out so far

I find it difficult to believe that you would be AT ALL dissatisfied with that engine bay! it's BEAUTIFUL! Alas, an artist is most usually his/her own worst critic.
I wouldn't have used blue lines, but I guess that's what they use in race cars. (I have blue vac/boost lines around my turbo on my 1:1 240SX because of the heat resistance it provides and they didn't have any black stuff)

Thanks guys. It's not that bad considering that it's almost fully scratchbuilt (I did use the kit's radiator ;)) I forgot to paint the tubing for the fuel lines before I installed it. It was going to be a pain to paint it afterwards considering the clamps I made are actually holding the lines in...no glue used. I'm not really feeling the blue either...oh well, the blue adds a bit more color to the bay.

I got the chassis 99% done...I forgot to reinstall the panhard rod that broke off during assembly. Since the header is on the other side, I made a crossover pipe for the exhaust to keep it in the stock location. I used some scrap tubing left over from when I trimmed the air horns for the carbs for the exhaust tip. I also ran and plumbed the rear brake lines.
This one is no trailer queen...so it got a dry brushing of rust, and a nice and thick dirty thinner wash.

I'm rounding third, and starting to head for home...
