I dont have a lot of kits, but I a have a couple that I think are rare, not really sure though.
I have a 1/16 or 1/12 i dunno which one... Monogram '65 (i beleive thats the date) T-bird, and a 64 Vette 3 n 1. Only the T-bird is built.
I also have the revell corvette indy concept car.
I have one which I should be picking up tommorow, and OOP tamiya kit which I just love... But i aint gonna jinx it, so i'm not telling till tommorow.

All 2 kits were bought within the last week:
Tamiya Leyton House CG901B - picked it up for $18 at my LHS, right after the owner re-stocked some kits he had in his house. I've seen this kit go for $50 or more on ebay
Protar Ferrari 156/85 - from the same lot of kits, paid $10 for it

Hard to find kits I have managed to purchase:
Bugatti type 55 1:24 (Danhausen). Completely made from metal.
Never seen again on E-bay or elsewhere.
Bought from a lady that I came in contact with via E-bay.
Bugatti type 35 "Tecla" Yellow 1:20 (Revival). completely made from metal.
Never seen again on E-bay or elsewhere.
Bought from the same lady (I like that lady! :P)
Bugatti type 50 1:8 (Pocher) Blue / grey version.
Paid 250 euro's for a built model. Unbuilt on E-bay they go for 1200-1500 euro's...
Usually show up on E-bay about 2 times / year....
Needs some TLC, though....

Gunze reboxed someone's early 928, and it's got complete engine, opening doors and rear hatch. It pops up on eBay every so often. Try registering a word "928" on your favorite search, and you'll get a daily update.

I picked up this 1979 Revell kit off ebay a while back pretty cheaply. It looks pretty cheesy on the box art but it looks to be a pretty decent kit. It does have engine detail and the molding is fairly sharp. Worth looking out for. :sly:

I had a few kits that I don't see no more, but ruined them. So my only "rare" kit that I have is this:
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=500/35516suprakit.jpg
Fujimi Kit#01335-10115
Toyota Supra 2.0GT 24 Valve DOHC Twin Turbo E.
Original Price: 800 Yen
Price Paid: Somewhere around $20USD w/o shipping, but only because the seller said it had full engine/suspension details, so I assumed it was a recast of this kit: High Mechanism series model (http://www.1999.co.jp/asp/GoodsDetails_e.asp?Bno=&Typ1_c=102&Typ2_c=106&Typ3_c=439&SPage=1&SC=23&SN=Search+result+Search+for+%3A+supra&It_c=10024294&andor=0&scope=0&scope2=0&thumb=1&sortID=1&urikire=0&sort_sort=0&ItKey=supra&app_url=KeyReference_right_e.asp)
IMO, the kit sucks bad, worst than the tohge series model! The lines of the body really suck next to the tohge one. Oh well, live an learn from my mistakes. :banghead:

Revell-Monogram Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 71
Fujimi Enthusiast kits like Ferrari Daytona
Revell Germany Bugatti Eb 110
That's kits I haven't found yet, or missed when I could have got them...
About kits I own I could't find anymore if I wanted to buy now:
Tamiya Citroën 2CV
Fujimi Enthusiast kits like Ferrari 288 GTO or Dino 246 GT
Fujimi dome Zero street car
Can a McLaren F1 Gtr from Profil 24 be considered as a rare kit? Same for an Accurate Miniature McLaren M8b?
I know my list wouldn't be the same if I wasn't in France...

Revell released a 1968 GTO in the early 90's... Easy find on e-bay and fairly easy conversion.

I have what I think are a few rare kits on my hands. These are certainly rare where I come from and have no seen any of these for quite some time.
1/16 Fujimi Ferrari F40 "Marco Brand"
1/24 Fujimi Enthusiast Ferrari 288 GTO
1/24 Fujimi E30 BMW M3 Group A "AutoTech"
1/24 Airfix Peugeot 905 EV1
Not sure if these are that rare but as follows (all 1/24):
Hasegawa Focus Safari '99
Hasegawa Corolla RoGB with night lights
UT Models Opel Calibra ITC
Tamiya Eggenberger Texaco Ford Sierra
Fujimi Porsche 911 Carrera Cup
Most of these have been found in the most unusual places and certainly not major hobby retailers. The BMW E30 M3 was found in a toy shop in a country town about 200kms from a major city that I stopped to look in whilst passing through town on holidays. It was A$20.

Would a 1:20 scale Fujimi "Southern Cross Rally" Mitsubishi Lancer (1970's model 2 door sedan, rear wheel drive) be a rare kit? Just bought it, never seen or heard of it before....
It should be interesting, its an older motorised reissue from the looks (no motor though) interior looks nicely done, it has an open boot (trunk) and bonnet (hood) though it has no detail for either...I doubt there is a motor set available!
It has a full set of circa `1970's ralliart/mmc decals, and nicely moulded rs-watanabe style rims.
Should be an interesting kit!
Will look like this (maybe..) if I go with the full period decal kit..

The Box (only pic I found):
