A friend has a 2003 Saturn SL 4 door 2.2 Liter engine. Everybody wants you to use either a Platinum or Iridium plug. He just wants a standard copper plug can somebody give me the part number. He like me doesn't believe in all that fancy new crap just give me a good old copper plug. Autolite single platinum number AP5263.
Thanks

Please clarify which car you have. There's no such thing as a 2003 Saturn SL. The Saturn SL was last produced in 2002 and it came with a SOHC 1.9L engine.
If it does infact have a 2.2L engine you probably have either a 2003 Saturn L200 or 2003 Saturn ION (both use the same engine). Unfortunately, there isn't a standard plug available for use in this engine. That's why "everybody wants you to use either a Platinum or Iridium plug." You simply don't have the option of using a standard plug because the Ecotech 2.2L requires a longer reach (reach = threaded section) of 25mm instead of the 19mm reach found on most other spark plugs.
What's your big gripe against using platinum or iridium plugs anyways? There's nothing fancy or new about platinum plugs anymore since they have been factory installed in many engines since the mid-1990s. Iridium plugs have been factory installed in many engines for at least 5 years and recommended for use in some older engines for at least as long. There are only a select few engines made in the last 20 years in which the OEM only recommends standard plugs. The Ecotech 2.2L isn't one of them.

Probably an 03 L Series, since he mentions 4 doors.
What Ruley said is correct. No non-platinum plug is available. The AP5263's are only about 3 bucks.
