I have a red top Optima, and yeah it was bigger than the stock bat, mine would never fit under the hood.

I am glad they came out with it when they did I was just about to re route to trunk. It's exactly the same size as stock, where did you put your battery?

What guage wire did you guys use when you relocated your battery? I got 4 guage amp kit wire in my car now. I took out my system and want to use this wire as my "hot" wire when I relocate my battery... will this wire work? Thanx!

I have an Optima Yellow Top, it was the big one and it fit right in the front!!! all you gotta do is take out the battery tray and this battery fits so SNUG in there!!!! and leave's plenty room up top for the INTAKE so it wont hit any terminals or anything......

Swith from the DX(DPFI) to the Si(MPFI) intake manifold.

thats exactly what i did.. already had 4 gauge amp wire ran from the hatch to the hood, so when i relocated my battery i just use that for + and ran a short ground over to the strut tower. Under the hood i used my stereo power splitter (one 4 gauge-to-two 8 gauge wires) to run the 2 wires underhood.

I ran 2AWG wire from the + terminal and 0AWG for the ground wire. Using a larger ground wire than the + wire doesn't do anything, but the shop I went to didn't have any 2AWG ground wire...

Anyways, ran the 2AWG wire to a Phoenix Gold 100 Amp circuit breaker, and then up to the engine bay into a Phoenix Gold 2AWG distribution block (2AWG input and 4AWG outputs). Then out the other side to the starter, and from the starter to the alternator so that the entire power circuit was running on 2AWG wire... Except for the ECU fuse wich I used 10AWG wire from the distribution block... here's some pics:

Also, the cool thing is that if you run 2AWG, under the door sill on the passenger side, there are clips to hold the wire already there waiting to be used...

Battery and circuit breaker... The ground-wire I just bolted to the spare-tire mount:

A picture of the distribution block mounted in the engine bay:

Here you can kinda see the wiring going to the starter and then off to the alternator:

When I install my stereo system, I'm going to put another one of the distribution blocks back by the back-seat area to power the amps, will look really nice.
