'03 Windstar makes moaning sound...

when driven at speeds of 50 mph or < for extended periods of time. I suspected the power steering pump might be going bad, due to the sound it makes (sounds like a pump going bad when you turn the wheel), but this is making the noise without turning the wheel, and it does it constantly until the engine has had time to cool down. Any ideas?:banghead:

Have you tried flusing the hold fluid and uasing new fluid to see if that helps??? How many miles. Read wiswinds thread at top of first page about maintenance on windstar lots of info.

The PS pump will also make this noise if it is low on fluid.
