Hi I am new to the forum... and electronic cars.
The battery died in my girl friends 2006 Impala last night. After a quick boost it is running, but now the "Service Airbag Soon" warning is displayed on the dash. I can't say it was not on before because I haven't been in the car for over a week but she is very good about taking care of it. Could this be related to the loss of power?
If it helps everything seems to be reset back to default units...MPH, radio, etc not that this surprises me. I am thinking if I can clear the codes and it does not come back then all is good and if it does then more drastic actions will be required. I just do not know how to do it, can some one point me to a guide to reset them?
We have not been happy with the local dealer so I want to avoid going there. Any help is much appreciated.

My 71 C20 never had problems like this

when jumping a dead battery lots of things can happen ...componets get damaged stressed out....

check all fuses with a meter ...this is most likely the problem ..

Thanks.
All of the fuses checked out ok. I ended up having to get a new battery. I took the old battery out before I went to get the new one so I had it disconnected for at least 2 hours. put the new one in and the light is out now. I guess it reset it's self all is good now :)
My GF called the dealership and they told her that it is normal for that to happen when the battery dies like that.

Cheers.

The Computer and the BCM sort of reset itself. Codes are in volitile memory so when the power to the car is cut, they go bye byes.........

Glad your problem is fixed
