Program keyless remote-Need instructionstslater 08-09-2003, 02:49 PM Hello everyone; I just bought a 2001 4Runner LTD. It came with only one remote & I'd like to buy an additional one. I was checking listings on ebay & some come with programming instructions and some do not. Don't totally trust their claims & would feel better if I had instructions from another source. My remote has 3 buttons on the front (lock, unlock & rear window) with a red panic button on the back. The FCC ID # is HYQ1512Y. Thanks in advance for any all help. daffy_duck-010 04-17-2004, 05:19 PM The dealer was happy to give it to me so here is the procedure. let me know if it works. (Camry 02 and 03) 1. Driver door open and unlocked. Key out of the ignition 2. Insert the key and remove 2 times in 5 sec. 3. Close and open driver door 2 times in 40 sec. 4. Insert the key and remove it again from ignition. 5. Close and open driver door 2 times in 40 sec. 6. Insert the key in ignition, 7. Close the door, 8. Turn to on and back to lock in 1 second intervals. 1 time for add, 2 times for rewrite, 3 for confirmation 5 for prohibition. (yes, there is no “4”) 9. Remove the key 10. Power lock will cycle to confirm 11. For add or rewrite mode within 40 sec of the confirmation, A. press “lock” and “unlock” buttons of the FOB at the same time between 1 and 1.5 seconds. B. within 3 sec press “Lock” button for more than 1 sec and release. C. If it’s correct, the power door lock will cycle once. If it’s wrong the door lock will cycle twice. 4Runner Instructions I have a 1999 4Runner and I followed the directions above (which I've copied below) with one exception. In step 8 -- I held the lock button instead of the unlock button in order for the directions to work. Step 1 - open drivers side door and get in your vehicle. Step 2 - put key completely into ignition, then pull out. Step 3- with door open, lock and unlock 5 times on door console (ten clicks total). Step 4 - close door then open door. Step 5 - lock and unlock 5 times on door console (ten clicks total). Step 6 - put key completely into ignition then turn to the on position then pull key out (you will now hear the door locks lock then unlock a couple of times) Step 7 - now quickly press the lock and unlock buttons at the same time only for about a second. Step 8 - then quickly press the lock button for just a second. Step 9 - exit car and close the door After you do this you should hear a beep then your lights will flash. This will indicate that your remote is programmed to your vehicle. forerunner_fixer 04-26-2004, 07:40 PM hey i have a 98 four runner sr5 it has eletric door locks and i got remotes off of ebay . when i looked uner the drivers seat it has a s1000 vip alarm system from toyota it has no green button on the box and i cant find anything any where to program the remotes i brought i have tried the listed reprograming instructions but i cant get it to work. help!!!!! This will indicate that your remote is programmed to your vehicle. i tried this procedure to program 2000 4runner and it wouldnt work, and when i press lock and unlock ten times it keeps locking weaker and weaker. do you know if your instructions work for my car thanx luivarca 09-21-2007, 06:45 PM hi. i have a corolla LE 98, i just bought the keyless entry remote. does anyone knows how to program it? thanks Tamarina 09-28-2007, 09:54 AM Hi Everybody..I have a 1995 Toyota Corolla. My car came with Toyota Alarm but i lost remote can this alarm remote work? thanks http://www.keylessremotesforless.com/images/Toyota_GQ43VT14T_4B_Hold.jpg Onblsht 10-02-2007, 04:29 PM No, the GQ43VT14T remote was never used on a 4Runner. -stev=o 10-03-2007, 02:56 PM i tried this procedure to program 2000 4runner and it wouldnt work, and when i press lock and unlock ten times it keeps locking weaker and weaker. do you know if your instructions work for my car thanx I ran into this problem. My issue was that the door closed/open sensor was busted because at some point, my metal seatbelt latch got caught between the door, and the frame/sensor, and I closed the door (thus smashing the sensor behind the rubber housing on the door frame). I got around it by snagging the working sensor out of the passenger side. effe0525 10-16-2007, 09:12 PM Hi, my 2002 Corolla uses the BAB237131-022 remote, I picked up a replacement on Ebay (matching model #) and need programming help. I have lost the only keyless remote for my 2004 4Runner. I thought I had the number from the back written dow.
