Hello Everyone,
I need to find a way to reprogram a remote entry fob for a 2001 Chevy Impala. I have yet to find the crack for it. I call the dealer and he suggested a way that might work, or have to hook it up to the computers. Does anyone know for certain which I need to do?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You will need a scan tool to program the remotes you wil need to make a trip to the dealer!

Guess what,
I found the answer on how to program it without going to the dealer. Here is how you do it on the 2001 Chevy Impala:

Non scan tool Method:
1) To program the RKE transmitter, you must enter the customization main menu through the radio. Turn the ignition switch on to ON or ACC position and turn the radio off. Press and hold the DISP button on the radio for at least 5 seconds until SETTINGS is displayed. Using SEEK up or down arrow keys, scroll until FOB PROG appears on the display. Press PREV or NEXT button to enter lower menu. BEGIN will be displayed.

2) Press DISP button to start programming. When PUSH FOB message flashes, press and hold both LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the RKE transmitter for 15 Seconds. A chime will be heard to verify transmitter is learned.
3) Repeat step 2) for each transmitter to be used. All transmitters must be programed in the same programming sequence.
4) Scroll until EXIT appears in the display. Press DISP button to exit programming. A chime will sound to verify exit.

Hope this will help others!
