Pocher F40 plus Autograph transkit
Hi guys,
I spent some time reading progress reports on some stunning, sometimes mind boggling building projects. Now I like to share a project which I started about 10 months ago and kept me busy for over 400 hours already. It is the 1:8 Pocher F40 ..longtime out of production and not easy to lay hands on. I also bought the transkit from Autograph Germany. 3 kilos of parts, Photo etch, screws, cloth etc. About 350 times sold but seldom finished Sold as "not for the faint hearted" ...and that is true On this moment the engine is finished, the body is painted in a professional paint shop and now the assembly of all these parts take place. A lot of pictures are made but I show you a selection which show all the "important moments" hope you enjoyed it Ton |

Re: Pocher F40 plus Autograph transkit
Hew-Yeah! I like my Pocher's big and complicated and this one delivers. I have one of these babies on the shelf waiting for a spare 24 months of building time. Tony, I built the F40 stock before the Autograph transkit was available and I remember none of the body slats were open. That is some impressive die-cast grinding on your part! Nice soldering on those rotors too.
I hear the intake manifold detail is kinda complicated. Any insights you feel like sharing? |

Re: Pocher F40 plus Autograph transkit
Hey Tony, found your WIP! You've gotten more finished since the last time I saw it... looking excellent! I'm working on the intake manifold and the suspension mounting points on mine. Lots of fabrication, not much progress!
Thanks for your well wishes about my baby and my father... they're both doing much better! Welcome again!!! BM1 |

Re: Pocher F40 plus Autograph transkit
Hi Garey,
Thanks for the warm welcome. The progress on the F40 is slow...so many labour intensive little jobs with less to no visible progress. This afternoon I worked 2 hours to get #44 in its place Tomorrow I have to put #43 in place which should vertically and horizontally fit perfect with the rear hood Ton |

Re: Pocher F40 plus Autograph transkit
Did you start with a donor car or an unassembled F40 kit? I bought my tk in a package deal with an F40 kit. Then as luck would have it, a guy offered me a built F40 for $100 so I can go either way on mine.

Re: Pocher F40 plus Autograph transkit
I haven't started mine. I'll do it one day but it's going to be a loooong project that takes up a lot of room so I'm in no hurry. It's from the very first Speedline issue. I just looked at the box (a gray plastic tub) and it says 28/200 so I guess this is only the 28th of the first run Uli did. I'm sure yours has many updates and changes since mine was produced.
I still have an Alfa Monza about 70% complete needing to be finished before I can start another 1/8 without a guilty conscience. Re: Pocher F40 plus Autograph transkit
It is assembly time now. After painting the body I can start with assembling all the parts that are waiting at the shelf.
Her are pictures of the dryfit and the assembling of the oil coolers (engine and transmission) regards Ton |

Re: Pocher F40 plus Autograph transkit
Damn! Ive seen some "super-detailed" kits but this has got to be the most perfectly executed Ive seen. It looks 100% real. Beautiful job.
