Silhouette Cooling Fans

Does anyone know if both fans are to run at the same time or is it possible that only one will run at some times.

Normally my temperature gauge is about 1/3 from the left. When the engine gets really hot the gauge goes slightly over 1/2. When I pop the hood it seems that some times only one fan is running then if a move the wiring the other kicks on.

Could I have a temperature sensor problem or perhaps a fan relay going bad?

Hi kidfam,

The cooling fans are suppose to run together, either at a low speed or a high speed. What you probably have is a loose connection, because it changes when you move the wires. It could be a relay going bad too.

You can see how the system is supposed to work at the link below. The diagrams may not match exactly, but they should be close.

Take Care,
