New Showroom for London Supercar Dealer inc McLaren F1

Hi there,

It seems that Cars International have moved to new premises in London.

This is taken from an article on Classicdriver: -

"Much of this stock will be displayed in Cars International’s new Kensington showrooms, which open this week. “I’ve completely overdone it,” says Osborn of the Reece Mews premises. “I’ve spent £100,000 on the interior – it’s minimalist and modern – but we’ve retained the period mews feel on the outside. We’ve installed racks to maximise the number of cars displayed which, depending on the ‘sardine-ness’, will be somewhere between 12 and 18: a mixture of old, coachbuilt Bentleys, to racing cars, a McLaren GTR, the ex-Works 1953 Le Mans/Mille Miglia Austin-Healey – and so on. And yes, we’ll probably put the 2002 Schumacher Ferrari in there, too"

From previous posts we know the Mclaren they refer to is 27R the Papaya coloured GTR Longtail.

A member of the Pistonheads forum has posted a message to say he has been past the showroom and the Mclaren F1 is in the window along with an F40 and a Carrera GT.

great that the general public can now get close to an F1!

I pictured 27R at the Goodwood FoS in 2005. Those were analog pics so I might pop in there someday to take digitals!


BTW: I dont see the McLaren in their stocklist!!

Someone may have also been invited to the official opening later this week by Martin Brundle and other Grand Prix stars and that same person may also have a VIP pass.....

I'll try to upload the photos when I get back, but its going to be late (after midnight) so it may have to be the following evening.......

PS they also have a workshop down the M4 corridor - i'll try and blag an invite there too......

I can certainly confirm that 27R is not for sale. It is owned by Cars International and they are considering converting it for road use themselves.
This I found odd as when I saw it at Goodwood it had License plates on which it would not be able to get if it were not road legal?

on 27R, the number plate is for show purpose only, it is road registered on an Audi RS6

Oooppss sorry guys the licence plate is just a cars international ID so must not be road legal yet.

A wee bit off-topic ... but Cars International are also currently brokering a collection of 4 of Michael Schumacher's 'milestone' Formula 1 cars ...

The first GP car he drove (Jordan)
The first GP car he scored championship points in (Benetton)
The chassis that he drove most to his first World Championship (Benetton)
and the all conquering Ferrari F2002 which scored 15 wins out of 17 races in one season!

I don't know. I saw the ad a few weeks ago in Classic and Sportscar, but was hesitant to air the 'find' here, until this thread appeared.
