Re: TAMIYA SLR Mclaren
Wow, talk about 56k death!
I just wanna reach into those photos and start building it...oh what a teaser! Looks very nicely detailed and as if you're building the 1:1 on a production line! More paint colours to buy if I want this kit (which I clearly do) . I wonder how much it'll be in my LHS . Thanks for the pics, thought maybe too big for 56k? Cheers again.

Re: TAMIYA SLR Mclaren
All in all I must say that I like it, despite all the flaws.
Thanks for input. |

Re: TAMIYA SLR Mclaren
I agree, it looks like a super kit, even the metal chassis looks good, as does the top -part engine look good.
Keep the updates on the model coming! Oli |

Re: TAMIYA SLR Mclaren
Wow! looks like a hot kit... weird though, seems like Tamiya is changing their wheel systems to the Fujimi style, with the polycaps inside the wheels. I think since the Carrera GT and the NSX SuperGT 05 kits.

Re: TAMIYA SLR Mclaren
They did an admirable job of hiding the fact it's a diecast chassis with an incomplete engine; painted/assembled correctly one wouldn't know. The separate parts to cover the screws in the chassis are a no-brainer; I wonder why Tamiya didn't do that before

Re: TAMIYA SLR Mclaren
Actually it looks better than expected, I just don't like the half engine thing but beside that, stunning!!! I think I have to preorder it again (I canceled the first one because I wanted to wait to see how it looks...)
I can't wait to see this one finished with open doors + hood Last edited by Decs0105; 08-22-2006 at 11:11 AM. |

Re: TAMIYA SLR Mclaren
Someone asked how much it'll be at the LHS, well retail here in the states will be $59.00.
I'm surprised at how good it looks. I've read somewhere the chassis pan is primered and ready for paint. Chris |

Re: TAMIYA SLR Mclaren
Looks good assembled, but for me, a big part of the fun is constrcting the engine parts, so a 1 piece engine shell disappoints.

Re: TAMIYA SLR Mclaren
Really looks good. Diecast chassis notwithstanding, It looks to be a stellar kit. The half-engine doesn't even bother me, it's a much better half-engine than what Fujimi does, and I thought Fujimi's were well passable. Hot hot hot.
