Rough idle, dies while driving & gets HOT!!!

My wife has a 97 concorde lx with 148,564 miles. It has had a problem with overheating. Had a new water pump, radiator and numerous other things done to it. It works for alittle bit bit then starts back. Now it runs fine for short a distance, but then it gets hot, starts idling rough then will die. You have to let it sit for about 10 minutes and go again. When it idles rough it wants to die and you have to give it gas put it in gear and go!! If you do not it will die. Any ideas??

you could have a numerous amount of things still. When it gets hot does it stall automatically? Sounds like you have cracked heads or a leaking head gasket. Are you loosing collant but can't find a leak? You need to have a compression test done on each cylinder to see if you have a leaking head. Use a compression fitting and a gage and thread it into each cylinder and check for proper psi in each cylinder.
