Angry ABS and Emergency Brake Light

this last Friday I got some lo-pro tires put on the front of my truck for clearance reasons leaving my truck with a nice little rake to it. well ever since then, about 2-3 minutes or a mile or so down the road my ABS and Emergency Brake light would come on... nothing seems wrong except for those lights come on. What would cause this and how can I fix this?

Re: ABS and Emergency Brake Light

The first thing to do when your e-brake light goes on is check the brake fluid... It's designed to go on when the brake fluid is low too.

If the fluid level is low I always find that there is a leak somewhere, or the pads... or shoes need replacing.

Re: ABS and Emergency Brake Light

since the front end is now lower then the back and the fluid all leans to the front of the fluid resevoir, would that do it?

Re: ABS and Emergency Brake Light

shouldn't unless it's pretty low to start with, or it would be on every time that you go down hill.

Re: ABS and Emergency Brake Light

If the fluid isn't low the shoes are probably ok... can you try a stock sized tire, and see if it goes out?

Re: ABS and Emergency Brake Light

see if you can try (borrow first) a set of low-pro tires, on the back... although it'll mess with your speedo, and mileage... There are plenty of web sites on tuning abs brake systems listed under Google.

Sorry that I couldn't help more

Re: ABS and Emergency Brake Light

Is there a possibility that the tires are hitting the ABS sensor wire connector on the frame when you make a turn?

Re: ABS and Emergency Brake Light

I has something to do with the proportion valve.

Lower the back to match the front.

hate to tell you all... but your all wrong... the problem is that your ABS detects even wheel speed between front and back and when there is a difference it shuts down and turns on the light. you people must be crazy to think im changing my tires back to normal due to a little ABS light. hehe i love the way it looks. thanks though everyone
