RS*R ExMag or Apexi WSII exhaust?

I'm looking for an exhaust that sounds close to or as quiet as stock when cruising or at idle, but gets a little louder on acceleration and flows more freely than stock. These two seem to fit the bill pretty good.

For those of you with experience with one or both of these systems, please let me know how they sound, how they're built, which one do you prefer, just anything and everything you can tell me about them. At over $400, I don't want to make an ill-informed decision.

I have a cheap $80 fart can and custom 2.25" cat back....NEVER AGAIN...I've had this set-up for 2 years and it's not even fun to drive anymore. I want a quality system with a nice "quiet" tone. It will be on a 97 Accord LX. Thanks!

I have the exmag and I love it. At idle and coasting it is silent. under acceleration It has a nice deep but quiet sound which is amazing sounding. took it about a month to kinda break in its sound but now it is consistent and sounds good. the gains "feel" good but I never dynoed or anything obviously since she's pretty much stock other than the exhaust. In short I love the exhaust and it was money well spent.

here's a pic on my teg

Both are EXTREMELY good choices.

But I'd go with the RSR. If not, definitely go with the WorldSport.

Well the ExMag is sounding better and better (no pun intended). Just wish the price wasn't so steep, but I guess ya have to pay for the good stuff.

Exactly why the WS should be what you get then. Less $$$ than most other systems out there, just as good quality, and a top notch sound that's quiet unless your at full throttle. Has a nice deep tone to it when you're able to hear it. I love my WS exhaust, and I wouldn't trade it for any other.

Both perform very similar, quiet, mid range power. It all comes down to which one looks good to you.

I like the looks of the Apexi WS2 and am saving up for one.

Re: RS*R ExMag or Apexi WSII exhaust?

Anyone have any pics of the WS2 on a car? I think I've seen pics that shows it hangs down further than the ExMag. The $100+ lower price is very appealing though. I like all the feedback, thanks everyone.

Re: RS*R ExMag or Apexi WSII exhaust?

i have the newer WSII system on my accord and it's definately quiet.... until you get on it.

i installed the WSII myself and it bolted right up perfectly.

i would buy the WSII. it's stainless steel while the WSI was not. i wouldn't trade it for any other exhaust.

Not true, well not totally. I have a WSI and the muffler part and tip ARE stainless steel, but the rest of the piping is specially coated some other type of metal. Still holds up excellently so far for the 2 years I've had it.

Re: RS*R ExMag or Apexi WSII exhaust?

Hello...thanks everyone for your help. I have choosen to go with the RS-R. Hopefully it will be here by this weekend.

I prefered the looks of the ExMag (I like the black muffler) and although recorded computer sound files aren't very accurate...of all the sound files I heard, I prefered the ExMag...but the WS2 was definately second (again file transfer may have had a lot to do with it).

Thanks again for all the info and I will let you all know how it sounds once I install it.

Re: RS*R ExMag or Apexi WSII exhaust?

Well the ExMag arrived today and I'm hoping to get it on tomorrow after work, if not, then Wednesday since I have off. Out of the box it looks very nice. I'll post pics when it's installed...

Also, does anyone know of some good FREE video hosting sites? I'd like to post a video of the old exhaust and the ExMag, so everyone can hear the difference (crossing my fingers that there is a big difference).

You can PM me the hosting sites, so this thread doesn't get cluttered with those posts Later.

Finally Installed

Well I finally got the ExMag installed. It took about a week to install it. Was having a bitch of a time with the rusted bolts at the Cat and we had a lot of rain with no garage to work in. Eventually just used a cutting wheel to cut the bolts off. Those things are great.

This thing is amazing. Thanks to everyone who suggested it to me. It turns out to be exactly what I was looking for. Best investment to my car so far. I actually feel better throttle response with this exhaust than with my old straight exhaust and I can enjoy my music again.

If anyone wants to see pics I can post some up.
