I think it's because they look up stuff like "Type R" on Google. Try it, you'll get some links to forums like this one. People will go there and just throw up a post (like in this case).

I know what you mean. AF comes up nearly every time I search for random car info on Google, often with threads that are more than a year old. While every thread should be accessible for viewing, a time frame should be established for each thread so that if no new posts are made within that time frame, the ability to contribute to the thread expires. My opinon, at least.
